SCSS Basketball Finals
Friday night saw the conclusion to a big basketball season for our teams. Our Junior B Girls and Intermediate B Boys played in some hard-fought finals matches against quality opposition. Our Junior Girls had to fight back against a fast start from the opposition. They made some headway in the 3rd quarter but couldn’t quite match it in the final stretch. A great effort from the girls and they should be proud of their achievements this year.
The Intermediate Boys came out of the blocks charging and were dominant for the majority of the match, before the balance tipped in the final quarter. The boys will have learnt a lot from this and regardless of the result, they stepped up considerably to get themselves into finals contention. A big thank you from Mr Burdon to all students, coaches and parents involved in PLC Basketball this year.
Sunshine Coast Secondary School’s Water Polo
Our Water Polo teams saved their best games for their final matches on Monday. The Junior Boys played ferociously against their well drilled opposition and only fell away very late in the game. Our boys should be pleased with their efforts this year and were well deserved silver medalists.
The Intermediate Girls showed huge improvement across the season to take out their Bronze medal match. They were dominant from the start and showed great skill and grit to finish the match strongly. Thank you to coaches Mr Sam Irwin and Mr Crompton for a great season and for all players and parents for their continued support.
