Sunshine Coast Secondary Schools Basketball
A mixed first week of results for our Senior Basketball teams with only 2 wins out of 7 games.
Congratulations to the Senior B Boys and Intermediate E Boys teams who recorded comfortable wins. Some of our teams who lost were unlucky to draw their competition’s top teams in Round 1 so should find the going much easier for the rest of the term.
A big thank you to all the coaches and players who give up their Friday nights to represent PLC. Just a quick reminder to all players to regularly check their NAV calendar for draw updates and if you are not available to play then please communicate directly with your coach and Mr. Burdon as soon as possible.
SCISSA Touch Football
There were some great efforts from our touch football teams on Wednesday night. Many of our students were playing their first games together and all players worked hard as a team to compete throughout the matches.
There were some narrow losses from the Senior Boys, Junior Girls 1 and Intermediate Girls 2. Congratulations to the Junior Boys Team 2 for their strong win at home. Next week will be a bye for the Junior teams due to Year 7 Camp, however, the Intermediate and Senior games will still be going ahead.

Congratulations to Tom Chessel on his selection to attend the national baseball squad camp on the Gold Coast from the 14-18th August. This event will be a preparation event to determine the Australian team for the U18 World Cup. We wish Tom all the best in his endeavours!
Well done to Jye Flynn who has won the Qld Kart championship that was held in Townsville on the 2nd of July. Jye has earned a blue plate which means Jye is officially the best in Qld in KA3 Junior light division. Following on these great results, Jye secured a 4th place finish at Ipswich at the Australian Karting Championships last weekend.
