Secondary Schools’ Basketball

Our basketball teams are now at the pointy end of the season and after some competitive Friday night fixtures, we have a few teams in finals contention. Congratulations to our Intermediate Boys B, Junior Girls B and Junior Girls C who have put themselves in the mix to continue into postseason fixtures. We wish our teams and coaches all the best in their last games of the season.

A special mention needs to go to members of our Junior B Boys team who will be representing PLC at the Sophomore Champion Basketball Schools Queensland Tournament.

Players attending the tournament are Joseph Woods, Sascha Cleland, Seth Hellyer, Mitchel Van Dyke, Sam Rodway, Jayden Machemedze, Archer Mansell and Eray Polat.

We wish the team and coaches Connor Dines and Mr Brad Burdon all the best for the tournament.

Secondary Schools’ Water Polo

Our Junior Boys showed great grit and determination in their top of the table clash on Monday at Sunshine Coast Grammar. Even though the boys played with only one substitute player, they gave their all for the whole game. There were some brilliant moments in defense and attack, and although they didn’t come away with a win, they have demonstrated they have the attitude to match it against any team in their competition. Both teams have one game remaining next week before moving onto Semi Finals!

SCISSA Tennis

Our Tennis teams had to do some travelling for their games this week. Team 1 had a disrupted match due to problematic traffic, but it was great to see our available players win their sets within the match. Team 1 displayed improvement in their match, taking out several games within their played sets. All the best for the double home games next week.

SCISSA RUGBY 7s

Congratulations to all teams last night who continued to show strong competitiveness and sportsmanship in our Rugby 7's fixtures. Our U13 girls continued to grow in their playing confidence, walking away with 2 wins on the night. Our U13 boys had a tough draw, but continued to work hard and support each other, improving in their tackle technique throughout the night. Our U14 A and B Boys continued to go from strength to strength, with the highlight of the night coming from both the PLC A vs PLC B match, as well as the hard fought win against Immanuel from PLC B's. Our U14 girls have continued to grow in numbers, defeating Immanuel, however narrowly going down to grammar by a few conversions. Thanks to Leah Croke, Kristie Brock, Tiffany Harman and Josh Danzey for supporting our teams across a range of venues this week.
