Monday Night Netball

It was a strong final round of the term for our PLC netball teams with at least 6 of the 9 teams recording a win in their fixtures. Congratulations to PLC Amber, Jade, Emerald, Pearl and Opal for taking out their games. A special mention goes to the A Division team, PLC Sapphire, for recording their first win of the season. They are playing the very top teams week in and week out and it was fantastic to see that they reaped the rewards of all their hard work across the term. We hope all our players and coaches enjoy a well-deserved break over the holidays before the start up again later in Term 2.

Trish Buckley Volleyball

Congratulations to our Senior Trish Buckley Volleyball Girls teams for their strong finish to the competition. The combined results of all three teams gave PLC a 5th place finish overall, which is a fantastic result considering the calibre of teams in the competition. Our Year 11 and 12 teams both won their final matches and the Year 10s finished off with a loss and a draw. Thank you to all players for their commitment to the competition. We also thank Sarah Ashdown, Ella Hardstaff, Brooklyn Graves and Mr Gary Graves for their time and effort working with our teams across the competition.

SCISSA Senior Volleyball

Well done to our Senior Girls Volleyball Team 1 who competed in the SCSSA Senior A Division Grand Final on Wednesday night. The team did an exceptional job to work their way to a finals match in a very tough competition. The girls played extremely well and, although they couldn’t quite secure the game from a determined Sunshine Coast Grammar side, they should be extremely proud of what they have achieved this term. Thank you to coach Sarah Ashdown and manager Mrs Grier Elliot for the time and energy they have put into working with the girls this term.

Student Acknowledgements

Well done to Cade Rowlands for his strong performances at the Australian Life Saving Championships held in Perth last weekend. Cade competed in a number of events and his notable results included winning silver in U13 & U14 Male beach sprint relay and making the semi-final of the U13 Male Beach sprint (from a starting field of 39). Well done Cade!
