Monday Night Netball

The 2nd round of the Sunshine Coast Secondary All Schools’ Netball fixtures saw all our teams in action. The commitment to training shown by many of the teams is evident and there were some great performances across the evening. It was our Senior A Girls’ first game and while they played strongly and worked to build a lead across the game, Unity fought back in the last quarter and took the win. The team will no doubt bounce back and take some valuable lessons from that game into the next round. Congratulations to PLC Crystal, Emerald, Ruby, Pearl and Opal for picking up wins on the night. We wish our teams all the best for Round 3.

SCISSA Junior and Intermediate Soccer

It was a tough round for our soccer teams this week with a number of fixtures against top of the table teams. The Intermediate Boys Team 1 were valiant in their efforts but were unable to overcome strong performances from Immanuel College. Our Intermediate Girls played a top of the table clash against Matthew Flinders and performed strongly in a tight first half. Unfortunately, the tide turned against them in the second half, but the girls should be proud of the resilience they showed. Congratulations to the Junior Boys soccer team for turning a very tight game into a win against Good Shepherd. The boys displayed strong defence in the first half to keep the scores at 1-1. Some slight positional changes meant that they came out of the blocks quickly in the second half and made the most of scoring opportunities.

SCISSA Senior Volleyball

Congratulations to the Senior Girls Team 1 and Senior Girls Team 3 on their wins in the SCISSA Soccer Competition on Wednesday afternoon. We had a number of home games this week and the first round saw some hard-fought games with our B Division teams. Both Senior Boys Team 2 and Girls Team 2 showed plenty of spirit in their matches and showed plenty of development. Special mention goes to the Senior Boys Team 1 for the hard work they have been putting in to improve their performances.
