Competitive Sport News

We encourage students to consider participating in PLC representative sport options available this year. These are separate activities from competitive sport options as they are either short tournaments or one-off carnivals.  Please note that some representative options such as CBSQ Basketball, Senior Schools Cup Volleyball, Vicki Wilson Netball and Sunshine Coast Secondary Indoor Netball are not included in this list, as students will be invited from inside current competitive sport groups.

At the end of Week 6, we will provide information to interested students and parents so that trials and training an be organized (if required). Students need to register their interest via the Clipboard link which can be found on the 7-12 Sport NAV Page or in an email from me to students’ school email accounts.

SCISSA Junior and Intermediate Soccer

It was a good showing from our soccer teams this week with some close games resulting in a number of PLC wins. Our Intermediate Boys Team 2 had a particularly tough game in their fixture against St Andrew’s and fought hard to the end, only going down 2-0. Congratulations to the Intermediate Girls Team, Intermediate Boys Team 1 and Junior Boys Team for registering wins this week. Special mention goes to the Intermediate Boys Team 1 as this marks the first win of the season.

SCISSA Senior Volleyball

There was a mixture of results for our teams in the SCISSA Senior Volleyball Competition. Our Girl’s teams continue to be competitive with the Senior Girls Team 1 and 3 recording wins. The Senior Girls Team 2 had a big night of games with double headers at Good Shepherd, and while they didn’t walk away with the win, they represented PLC admirably and played with great energy into the evening. The Senior Boys teams, while valiant in effort, went down to their opposing teams this week. The teams are making improvement each week, which is great to see. We wish the teams all the best for their fixtures next week.
