7-12 Interhouse Athletics Carnival

Last Friday, our Year 7-12 students enjoyed a fantastic day of sunshine and competition for our Inter-House Athletics Carnival. It was great to see so many students get involved on the day, with some tremendous individual efforts on show. Congratulations to Patrick Dale (Year 10) and Chantelle Page (Year 11) for breaking the High Jump records for their age divisions. A special mention also goes to Abby Novosel (Year 7) for equaling the High Jump record in her age group. We are looking forward to announcing our boys and girls age champions at our 6-12 Assembly next week.

It was such a tight contest that up until the relays, only 20 points separated 1st and 2nd place Houses and there were only 100 points between 1st and 4th. Congratulations to Wira House for storming home with the relays to take out the Champions Trophy for 2022. Spirit is a big part of our carnivals, and Bula were worthy winners of the Spirit Trophy this year for their support and encouragement for their team throughout the day. Thank you to all students and staff for a great event.

Monday Night Netball

We had three teams who made it through to the semi-finals with all three teams winning quite convincingly on Monday and now move to the Grand Finals on Monday 13th June.

A very big congratulations to the teams and coaches and we wish them the very best of luck for their grand final games. This is an excellent result for the school as this is the first time we have had more than one team make the Sunshine Coast Secondary School Netball Grand Finals.

Results were:

Our netball program has been a big part of the students’ netball journey and we hope this will encourage more students to join next year. We would like to see as many supporters as we can for our finals next Monday.

Grand Final Times are:

Rugby Union

Congratulations to our U13 Boys team for their fantastic performances this season, earning them a spot in the Semi Finals against Sunshine Coast Grammar. They fought valiantly in their Semi Final loss, stepping up to play for each other and showing great grit and determination. With only minutes to go, our boys scored to bring the score to 17-12, with an opportunity for a last effort to take the game. Unfortunately, there just wasn’t enough time to get back to the other end to score, but the boys should be extremely proud of the skill and passion they demonstrated throughout the match. They will compete in the Silver Plate final next week and we wish them all the best.
