Competitive Sport Results

Monday Night Netball

The rain held off for us all to enjoy Monday Night Netball with our first game for Term 2.

We have two more round games before finals. The results were;

SCISSA Volleyball

Well done to our Senior Boys Team 2 and Senior Girls Team 2 for their wins on Wednesday. We had the benefit of mostly home games this round and it was great to see our teams represent our College so well.

SCSS Rugby Union

Our Under 13 Boys fought hard but went down in a close match, 17-12, to St John’s Navy on Wednesday. It was a tied match just before the end when St John’s snuck over in the dying moments of the game. Our boys had the chance to even things just before the final whistle but couldn’t convert the opportunity into points. It was fantastic to see our players hold their own against the top team and we can’t wait to see them continue to progress this season.

Student accomplishments

Well done to the following students for their recent achievements in sport:

•          Naite Pethick and Rhys Veizer for their selection in the 13-15 years Independent District Basketball Team

•          Alexander Lee for his selection in the 17-19 years Independent District Football Team.

We wish these students all the best for their upcoming regional tournaments.

7-12 Inter-House Athletics Carnival

It is not too long until our Year 7-12 Inter-House Athletics Carnival! In the lead-up, we are organising some pre-events that won’t be held on the day of the carnival. The 1500m event for 10-19 years students will be held on Monday 30th at 7.30am on the Meridan AFL Fields, with the Javelin event for 13-19 years students being held at lunchtime on the Main Oval. Students need to email Mr West if they are interested in participating in these events.

We are looking forward to seeing all our students competing at our carnival on Friday 3rd June.

Mr Cameron West-McInnes, Head of Sport
