Competitive Sport News:

Rugby:

Last night we hosted Sunshine Coast Grammar School on our on home soil, a first for girls rugby! Congratulations on both our girls teams who played with good competitive spirit! Our U14 Blue team put on a dominant performance against Grammar, defeating them 15 – 7, continuing to build on their defensive efforts from previous weeks. Our Blue and Gold team had the opportunity to compete against each other, with both teams showcasing some good rugby and representing PLC exceptionally. Finally, our PLC Gold team had the opportunity to play Grammar, unfortunately going down with a loss, however it is pleasing to see the girls continue to improve week in, week out and should be proud of the continued grit they are showing on the footy field. Thanks again to the solid support of parents and teachers cheering the girls on.

Mr Josh Cummins,Head of Rugby

Touch Football:

It was a fantastic night for our touch football teams with six teams coming away with wins, along with two very narrow losses. Congratulations to Senior A Girls, Intermediate A Boys, Intermediate A Girls, Intermediate B1 Girls, Junior A Boys and Junior A Girls for their commanding wins. The Intermediate B2 Girls and Junior B2 Boys went down in nail-biting games and both teams should be proud of their efforts to stay in the game. Special mention also goes to the Senior A Girls, Intermediate A Boys, Junior A Boys and Intermediate B1 Girls for holding spots in the top two places on the ladder at the half way mark of the season. There is still plenty of touch football to come and it is great to see our groups playing so well. Thank you again to all the coaches who give up their time to work with our students every Wednesday night!

Basketball:

Well done to our Senior A Boys and Senior D Boys for their wins on Friday night. The Senior A Boys competed in a double header and went down in their second game by just two points. Our A Boys are sitting just outside of the top four and have some tough games coming up. The Senior D Boys keep going from strength to strength and are yet to drop a game. The Senior A, Senior D Girls and Senior F Boys all had a week off to recharge and we wish them all the best in their fixtures this week.

Parents and students are encouraged to double check fixtures on the competition link as sometimes there are late changes that aren’t advised to us. We will always do our best to update Clipboard and email parents once we find out about changes.
