As mentioned in last week’s edition of the newsletter, the Year 12 cohort spent the weekend in Alexandra Headlands at Pacific Lutheran’s first ever Year 12 Retreat. It was great to be able to spend three days with the graduating class of 2021. They came together to work on what they could achieve during the rest of their time at Pacific.

It was a weekend of reflection, fun, games, and peer-to-peer connection which culminated in a range of special memories for the cohort to take with them when they leave the College. A big thank you to all who attended, including Ms Kim Wood for organising the retreat and other staff for their assistance. A special mention to the College Captains and Pacific Action Group Captains for leading the activities. This is sure to be a significant event for graduating classes of the College into the future, to share deep experiences that they can cherish for years to come.

3 on 3 Basketball

Last Friday night, to celebrate the end of the school term, the Sports Pacific Action Group held the first 3-on-3 Basketball tournament for the year. 21 teams competed across three divisions for the title of ‘2021 3-on-3 Basketball Champion’. In the end, more than 60 games were played in a short timeframe. As is always the case, the team uniforms on display were the highlight of the evening. Congratulations to the winners in each division and to all who played for fun and entertainment. A great time was had by all, and I look forward to seeing everyone compete again at the next event. A big thank you to Pacific Action Group Captains Lachlan Buchanan and Alicia Woods for organising the night and their enthusiasm for sport throughout the year, so far.\

Holidays

We wish everyone a safe and blessed break as we move into our mid-year holidays. It has been a busy term for all, filled with a wide range of events and opportunities for students across all year levels. I pray that all families can have good quality time with one another and students can rest and rejuvenate, ready for Term Three. I wish the Year 11s all the very best as they start to prepare for leadership positions early next term and thank the current College Action Group and House Captains for their leadership so far this year. I look forward to seeing them work closely with the incoming (2022) leaders after their appointment in Term Three.
