The following Defence Work Experience Programs are open to Year 11 students. Those who are interested should see Mr Ian Learoyd for further information.

  • ARMY – Army Malaria Institute: This program will provide participants with an insight into a wide range of Defence Scientific related activities. The placement will run from 27th to 29th June in Enoggera. Applications close on 6th June.
  • ARMY – HQ 7th Combat Brigade: This program will provide an introduction to the brigade and information on Army careers, enlistment and training procedures. The placement will run from 29th to 31st August in Enoggera.
  • ARMY – HQ Army Aviation Training Centre: This program is for students wishing to pursue a career in Army Aviation. The placement will run from 17th to 20th October in Oakey.
  • AIR FORCE – Mechanical Equipment Operations and Maintenance Section: This placement will provide students with exposure to many different workshop trades, general maintenance and trade assistant duties. The placement will run in Amberley for four days between May to November, dates are negotiable.
  • AIR FORCE – Air Traffic Control: This placement will provide students with an insight into the duties of Joint Battlefield Airspace Controllers. The placement will run in Amberley for two days between 18th April to 11 November, dates are negotiable.
  • ARMY – HQ 9th Force Support Battalion: This placement will include indoor and outdoor activities that provide participants with an insight into a range of Army activities. The placement will run from 15th to 17th August in Amberley.
  • AIR FORCE – Fire Section: This placement would ideally suit students considering an Air Force career as a Fire Fighter. The placement will run from 26th to 30th September in Amberley.
  • AIR FORCE – HQ 23 Squadron: This placement will include indoor and outdoor activities that provide participants with an insight into a range of Army activities including engineering, maintenance, logistics, air traffic control, fire and rescue and administration. The placement will run from 20th to 22nd June in Amberley.
