We welcome everyone back to the start of a new term. There are many valuable opportunities that students and parents are encouraged to be involved in throughout Term Two.

Senior College parent-teacher conferences took place this week and provided valuable insight into how individuals are tracking in their studies. This also allows each student to reflect on their learning and set new goals as we go into the second half of the semester. The Middle College conferences are taking place in Week 3 and I encourage all parents to take the opportunity to connect with teachers, with their children present, to get an understanding of how they can keep progressing in their learning throughout this term.

Next week is the annual ANZAC Day March. This will be held on Tuesday the 25th of April and is open to any students who would like to attend. We will be meeting as a College in the Caloundra Stockland shopping complex car park from 8.30am to march as a group to pay respect to those who sacrificed their lives for our freedom. All who are attending will need to register their interest on NAV by Monday of next week. We will also be holding a special ANZAC Day chapel on Wednesday that all P-12 students will attend.

Another service opportunity for students this term is volunteering to be a tour guide at this year’s Open Day. This is coming up at the end of Week 3 (Sunday 7th May) and will run from 12.30pm – 3.30pm. Students from Years 5-12 who would like to assist in showing visitors to the College around the school are invited to sign up via the link on NAV by the end of next week. The student-led tours are always one of the highlights of prospective families to Pacific and are a great way for students to show their passion for the school.

On top of all these events at the start of the term, we also have the College production of Pippin, an athletics carnival, the resumption of SCISSA and Sunshine Coast Schools sporting fixtures, multiple Action Group events, exams, camps and the Year 12 Retreat. I look forward to seeing the engagement and energy around all of these activities along with the fun and excitement that they bring.

Have a great term.
