We Remember Them

Sunday marked the 100^th anniversary of the Armistice which ended the First World War on November 11, 1918.  After the Second World War the British and Australian governments renamed the day, Remembrance Day. In 1997, Governor-General Sir William Dean issued a proclamation that at 11.00 am on the 11^th of November, Australians should observe a minute’s silence to remember all those who have died or suffered in all armed conflicts in service to our country. 

We pause each year to remember those men and women and their families who have served our country and made sacrifices so that we can live in peace and prosperity.  We have been given a great gift where we show our respect by making the most of our opportunities.
