QTAC Essentials for Parents

Next Tuesday 6^th August, Mrs Wanda Hayes will host a webinar for parents of Year 12 students, to explain how the university application process works. This is a great opportunity to bust some common myths and get a better understanding of what you and your Year 12 student can expect over the coming months, if they are intending to apply to university. This webinar will be broadcast live from 5.00 – 5.30pm on Tuesday 6^th August. This presentation will also be recorded and made available to interested people who are unable to attend. On Saturday 17^th August, Aviation Australia is hosting the Aviation Expo in Brisbane. The largest event of its kind in Queensland, the Expo showcases the thriving aerospace industry, with a significant focus on aviation skills development, careers and employment opportunities. The Aviation Expo features dozens of exhibitors from the aviation, defence and education industries who will inspire and educate visitors about the range of interesting roles available in aviation. Students who experience difficult circumstances or setbacks during their schooling can now apply for UQ's Leadership, Excellence and Diversity (LEAD) Scholarship. Each LEAD Scholarship offers financial assistance of $8000 per year for up to five years, a dedicated academic mentor, a support network through non-residential membership of a UQ college and priority access to valuable internship and career planning assistance.
