Term 1 YACHTS

Our Young Achievers Creatively Honing Thinking Skills (YACHTS) have started the year with a bang!

Year 2 students became time travellers using a coding app to interpret and record life in the present day through digital storytelling. Students designed and interpreted characters and scenes to represent lifestyles, adding text to vibrant pages.

In pairs, our Year 3 students explored a new iPad world and shared their discoveries as they questioned and reflected meta-cognitively.

Our coding consultants from Year 4 used higher order thinking skills to problem solve, create and make connections to draw conclusions and design games. Innovation and questioning allowed our students to learn from each other and evaluate their progress and designs.

Year 5 students researched ruins and relics. Knowledge was combined and applied, utilising an augmented reality app to create a living gallery. Peers shared discoveries as they actively coached each other throughout the inquiry process.

A fantastic start to our year of sailing the high seas!
