Over the school holidays Skye Norris and Kaylee McKeown were invited to compete at the Australian Age Swimming Championships in Adelaide. Skye represented in the long course (800m) events, after being ranked 1st in the country for the 800m freestyle and a top four competitor in two other events. Unfortunately, leading up to the championships, Skye fell ill and was unable to compete.

Kaylee McKeown also represented her club at the Australian Age Championships and won three Gold medals (100m backstroke, 200m backstroke and 200m individual medley), one Silver medal (200m freestyle) and one Bronze medal. She also set another Australian record in the 200m backstroke. Kaylee then went on to the Australian Open Swimming Championships (for Olympic selection) last week and came a staggering 4th in the nation in the 50m backstroke and 6th in the 100m backstroke.

This is a fantastic effort and we congratulate Skye and Kaylee on their success. We look forward to seeing both athletes representing the country in the not too distant future!!
