The Junior Girls A team travelled to Peregian Springs this week for their grand final match against St Andrew’s Anglican College (SAAC). The last time these two teams met it was an 8-2 victory to SAAC, so the girls and Mr Darren Hooper were nervous going into the match. The girls were down at half time 1-0 and needed to regroup and refocus. Whatever Mr Hooper said at half time worked. The girls came out firing and levelled it 1-1 after a steaming run from Bethany McKenna. With only two minutes left on the clock, a set move was run close to the line and Brianna Smart dived over to score the winning try. 2-1 winners! It was a gutsy effort from all players who worked extremely well as a team and never gave up. Well done!
