Robotics Club

Last Saturday, 9th October a group of robotics students from Years 6 to 8, travelled to Cooran Primary School to participate in their annual Sumo Lego robotics competition. Over 150 students from the area participated in the day to provide a highly competitive and fast-moving competition.

Two of our teams made it through to the finals, with one team, Dylan Casement and Riley Shepherd, coming third on the day. The students had been developing their robots this year with four motors instead of the normal two and this definitely gave our teams a power advantage.

A huge congratulations to all teams, especially Jake, Declan and Lottie who competed in the Middle school competition, up from their own elementary division.

A fabulous day was enjoyed by all team members and we came away with some interesting engineering decisions to act on going forward in areas such as centre of gravity and wheel-base configurations.
