Readers' Cup

This Wednesday, five Year 6 students competed in the Sunshine Coast Region Readers’ Cup Competition against teams from 25 other schools. The students (Zane Holmes, Beyonce Mathew, Elyse McFadyen, Daniel Whittingham and William Whittingham) had to read six books over the last two months, then compete to see which team could correctly answer the most questions about them.

The competition, held at Immanuel Lutheran College, tests students’ recall and reading comprehension and allows students who love reading to share their love of books with like-minded students.

Collins Books at Caloundra sponsored the event and provided book prizes to the winning teams. Richard Newsome, author of the Billionaire’s Curse series, also gave a presentation to the students about being a writer.
