Queensland Canoeing State School Championships
Queensland Canoeing State School Championships
Congratulations to the Pacific Lutheran College School Kayaking team for a magnificent effort at the recent Qld School Canoeing Championships at Lake Coomera on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th October.
Pacific Lutheran College finished second overall in the combined sprint and marathon championships
1st Place - Palm Beach Currumbin = 326pts
2nd Place - Pacific Lutheran College = 286pts
3rd Place - Elanora State High School = 265pts
4th Place - Lourdes Hill College = 95pts
The highlight of the championships was watching both our K4 teams win Gold and most of our mixed double teams achieving a podium finish. A special mention also to Mya Boyall for winning Gold in both the 200m and 500m for the demanding C1 event. Pacific Lutheran College performed extremely well in a multitude of different crafts, race distances and doubles combinations.
We had students winning medals at the state championships in both sprint and marathon races over the two-day carnival. A big thank you to the many parents who helped out on the day and a special thank you to both Trevor Baker and Brendan Casement for their continued help with boat repair and transport throughout the season. A special thanks also to Mrs Leah Croke for managing the students and the Sunshine Coast Canoe Club for transporting the K4 craft. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Mr Ben Ryan, Jack Gothorp and Ben Regan for helping to coach the students throughout the season.
