We look forward to our Strategic Planning day this Saturday and thank the many parents, staff, students and College Council members for taking the time to come together, engage creatively and be generative in their thinking as we consider ways to enhance opportunities for growth within the College.
Our Year 7-12 Athletes can be very proud of their performance at the 13-19 Years Independent District Carnival at the end of last week. There was a very strong team performance with Pacific coming second overall and a third of the team progressing to regional representation as part of the Independent District team. This was an outstanding achievement, and we congratulate all team members and wish those going on to regional competition all the best. We thank Mr Cameron-West McInnes, Mrs Lisa Muir and the sports staff for their support and leadership of our athletes.
Our Year 11 Legal Studies students enjoyed the opportunity to participate in the Youth Parliament 2022 held at Parliament House in Brisbane. Students had the opportunity to take on a variety of roles including being members for fictious electorates and fulfilling administrative roles that support government processes. We thank Mrs Kim Bonello and Mrs Kristie Brock for providing this rich opportunity to learn more about the workings of parliament and maybe even inspiring a future leader!
Many students enjoyed the opportunities provided within Science Week to engage in activities related to the theme of glass and take part in a team problem-solving event. There was a buzz of excitement as the teams completed a series of problem-solving tasks to crack a code and unlock a box full of prizes. We thank Mrs Claire Richards and her team for enhancing the students’ love of science.
We pray that God would shine the light of hope throughout the lives of people of the world and inspire us as a community as we plan our strategic direction.
