A warm welcome to the many new families in our community. Term 4 is an important time of transition as young people ready themselves for their next stage of learning. Our Year 12 students will be engaging in external exams and making the transition to life beyond school and our Year 11 students are making the transition to being the senior leaders in the College. The Prep to Year 10 students are developing skills that will enable them to be successful in their next phase of learning. It is an exciting term where we look forward to celebrations of our 20th Anniversary over the next fortnight, the Annie production, graduation ceremonies and student growth through engagement in the full life of the College. The establishment of routines and a calm, positive, purposeful approach is important for young people as they grow through this transition phase.
At the end of the Term 3 we announced that Mrs Leah Croke will be the founding Head of Buran House for 2022. We congratulate Mrs Croke and the following students who have been appointed as House Captains.

We congratulate and are very pleased to announce that Mrs Jo Belchamber will be the Head of Learning Middle College from the start of 2022. Mrs Belchamber brings a wealth of experience in leading the learning of middle years learners. This includes a focus on differentiation and academic excellence. We also congratulate Director of Staff Ms Marg Gunn on her appointment as Head of Learning at St Andrews Anglican College, Peregian and Head of Humanities Mrs Elley Wood as Head of Learning at Trinity Lutheran College, Ashmore. Both Ms Gunn and Mrs Wood have made a significant contribution to the ongoing growth and development of the College and we look forward to acknowledging their contribution more fully towards the end of the year. It is a testament to the learning culture at the College, that all three women have grown to take on senior learning leadership roles and we wish them well as they make the transition to new positions.
It was good to watch our Division 1 Club PLC team play with great skill and spirit in their grand final of the Caloundra Netball Competition. Congratulations to the girls and to Coach Ms Michelle Dufty on a strong season. Over the holidays our senior boys basketball team competed in the Champion Schools Basketball Queensland Tournament. The competition involves teams from across Queensland and our boys acquitted themselves very well coming in third place in their division. Two netball teams also competed in the Primary Schools Cup which involved over 95 teams from across the state. Our girls played well and gained a lot from the experience. We congratulate the basketballers and netballers and thank Mr Cameron West-McInnes and coach Mr Lee Miles for their leadership of the basketball team and Ms Michelle Dufty and Mrs Karen Costa for their coaching of our netball teams.
We wish our Year 3 students all the best as they participate in their first outdoor education experience at the end of this week. Thoughtful planning and organisation by Head of Outdoor Education Ms Kim Wood means that the engagement in outdoor education provides important opportunities for growth. We thank Ms Kim Wood and the Year 3 teachers for their leadership and wish the students all the best.
Students and families are encouraged to take up the opportunity to connect as community and celebrate the College’s 20th Birthday through the Aussie World Family Fun Night on Friday 22nd October. Further details are provided in the Friends of Pacific section of the newsletter.
We pray that God would encourage, strengthen and support all within our community throughout Term 4. We also pray that God would give us the generosity of spirit to extend hearts of welcome and hospitality to our neighbours.
