Staff, students, parents and friends of the College enjoyed the high-quality service and food provided by our Hospitality students and the entertaining performances of our Music students as they connected at our International Women’s Day Breakfast last Friday. As people connected, we celebrated the abundance we have in our lives and the importance of encouraging our young men and women to be fearless, unlimited and unlimiting as they explore and grow their strengths so that they can make a difference for others. We thank Mr Mark Hauser and Mrs Leanne Bevis for their organisation, Mrs Colleen Beattie and her Hospitality team, Mr Steven Lake and his Music team, our student leaders and our community for your support in making this such a successful event.

The Sunshine Coast Schools Debating Competition has commenced for 2019 and Pacific has entered a team of Year 8 students. The team performed well, winning their first debate last night. Well done to our team of Maggie Princehorn, Amedy Buchanan, Lucy Dimond, Taylor Mikolic, Elyse McFadyen and Isha Wallis and thank you to Mr Alex O’Connor for his coaching of these students. We are looking forward to a strong season of growth.

Our Year 5 Robotics team were excited to be part of the RoboCoast Immersion Day last Friday. These students are looking forward to sharing their learnings with the Junior Robotics Club and representing the College in a variety of events and competitions. We thank Mr Damian Davis and Mr Steven Healy for their support of these students and coordination of the Junior Robotics Club.

Well done to our primary students who enjoyed the opportunity to represent the College at the Inter-Lutheran Swimming Carnival this week. The team can be proud of the spirit they showed and their performances in the pool, which saw them achieve 2nd place overall. We thank Mr Darren Hooper, Mr Chris Mundey and Mrs Natalie Campbell for their support of our junior swimmers this year and also Mr Damian Davis who attended the carnival.

May God give us each the courage to take a stand to preserve the dignity, worth and safety of all people.

Dr Bronwyn Dolling, Principal
