The HundrED Innovation Summit in Helsinki provided a wonderful opportunity to connect with educators from around the world who varied from leaders of national systems to classroom teachers (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eVvi98S1_YA).  A consistent theme was around the ways in which schools could best prepare young people for a rapidly changing world.  This included the importance of developing deep disciplinary understandings, as well as providing opportunity for young people to explore big transdisciplinary questions in a rigorous way.  Enhancing student learning through access to flexible learning spaces and delivery and developing global awareness, student voice and their social and emotional capacities were also recurrent themes. The HundrED group aims to enable innovative educators to share their knowledge and grow global connections to enable young people to ‘flourish no matter what happens in life’ (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XIrK_9pRG8A&feature=youtu.be).  Much of what was presented resonated strongly with the current practice and direction of the College. I look forward to sharing some of these ideas with the community into the future.

We pray that God would guide, protect and enable our graduates to flourish in their many and varied roles and pathways beyond school.
