Many people valued the opportunity this week to engage in meeting with each other face to face as part of our parent, student, and teacher conferences.  We appreciate the time and commitment given by parents and teachers to support our young people in their learning throughout the year and through these conferences.  The partnership between parents, students and staff provides a strong foundation from which possibility grows.

On Saturday a team of eighteen Year 6 and Year 9 students competed in a range of events as part of the RoboRave competition held at the University of the Sunshine Coast.  This very popular event had over 2000 students participating.  Our teams performed very well and showed great skills in coding, collaboration, resilience and respect for other competitors.  We congratulate all students who entered and Vincent Clark and Angus Edwards who achieved a silver in the Highschool division, Dylan Casement, Riley Shepherd and Mason Pratt who reached the finals in the Highschool division and Mac Gallagher and Luka Stylianou who reached the finals in the Middle College division.  Thank you to Mrs Janine Stone and Mrs Kate Vaney for their preparation of the students and support of our students entering the competition.

On Monday our music students enjoyed an 80-minute Q&A session and guitar Masterclass with lead guitarist Michael Dolce.  Michael has been part of the “The Voice” team for over 11 seasons and has performed alongside many well-known artists.  Students benefitted greatly from his insights into the music industry and the opportunity to hone their music skills.  We thank Mrs Carlie Purkis, Mr Paul Cusik and Mrs Helen Williams for providing this opportunity.

We wish our Year 8 students all the best as they engage in their week-long outdoor education experience at Somerset Dam next week.  We thank our staff of Mrs Sharon Middleton, Mr Mark Hauser, Mr Graham Kanowski, Mr Liam Jacka, Mrs Rebekah Horsey, Mr Brett Kersnovske, Mrs Leah Croke, Miss Megan Bancks, Mr Josh Cummins, Mr Sam Irwin, and Mr Josh Danzey who will be attending and Mr Paul Brace for his organisation and leadership.

We thank God for providing us with many blessings and pray that He would equip each of us to seek and embrace possibility.

Dr Bronwyn Dolling, Principal
