Have you completed your Annual Review? One of the important ways that parents support the growth of learning within the College is through the provision of feedback. We encourage all parents to access the email sent last Friday 20th October and spend 5-10 minutes to provide feedback about their child’s learning experiences and the College’s strategic direction. This short survey helps to provide a pulse check and is used by College Council and the Administration and Learning Executive to implement improvement action.
The Day for Daniel is an important reminder for us all to play our part in educating and supporting our children about how to protect their personal safety. At Pacific we recognise the memory of Daniel and the legacy of the Morcombe Foundation by Prep to Year 5 students wearing a touch of red with their uniform. The red is significant to our students as it reminds them of Daniel as well as serving as a reminder to the importance of child safety and measures and techniques our students utilise to keep themselves safe.
Students from a range of six local schools enjoyed the opportunity to compete in the Pacific Pulse Surfing Competition last week. Teams were made up of 8 students ranging in age from U10 to U12 who each competed in two individual heats and then a Tag Team event as schools. Pacific students performed well with Ayal Robson (U10) and Tara McFadden (U12) Girls Age Champions and Indie Hooper U10 Girls Runner Up. We congratulate Buddina State School and Talara Primary College on being crowned joint champion schools on the day. We thank Mr Darren Hooper for his organisation and leadership and Mr Damian Davis, Mr Scott Massie, Mrs Lisa Muir, Mr Cam West-McInnes, Mr Joe Doran, Lachlan Buchanan and Mr Warren Schefe in providing this opportunity for young people to enjoy testing their surfing talents. We also thank sponsors Beach Beat Caloundra, Rob Williams Real Estate and North Caloundra Surf School.
We have welcomed back our Year 9 students from camp and have enjoyed listening to their stories. We look forward to continuing to support them to build on the important growth that occurred over the two-week period. We once again thank Head of Outdoor Education, Mr Paul Brace for his organisation and Mr Dave Druery, Ms Rebekah Horsey, Mr Liam Jacka, Ms Georgie Snelling, Mrs Sigrid Davis, Mr Duncan McNee, Ms Taylor Edwards, Mr Brendan Macaulay, Mr Josh Danzey, Mrs Leah Croke, Mrs Emma Lendrum, Mr Graham Kanowski, Mr Josh Cummins, Mr Brett Kersnovske and Ms Megan Bancks that gave so generously to make this such a powerful time of learning.
Our Year 12 students have been engaging well with the external exams. We pray that God would give each of our Year 12 students energy and clarity of thought as they prepare for and continue into their second week of external assessment next week.
We give thanks to God for all of the staff that He has brought into our community. We pray that God would continue to equip, strengthen and empower them as they inspire hope and possibility in our community.
