We congratulate Ben McCormac on winning both the Public Speaking and Overall competition at the Regional Lions Youth of the Year last weekend. This is an outstanding achievement, competing against high-calibre students from across our region and we wish Ben all the best as he now progresses to the next level of competition on 25th March. We thank the Caloundra Lions Branch and Mrs Rae Hall for their ongoing support of Ben.

The cast and crew of our Pippin production enjoyed the opportunity to come together for intensive rehearsals at Luther Heights last weekend. There was tremendous energy and joy, as the cast sharpened their singing, dancing and acting skills and strengthened confidence and friendships. The production is always a highlight and we wish Mrs Janine Delaney and her cast and crew all the best in their preparation for what promises to be a very entertaining performance.

We wish all of our students the very best for their NAPLAN testing and for other students their assessments over the coming week. Learning to view assessments as checkpoints and reflection points which inform future learning can help young people approach their tests more calmly. Having the mindset of finding out ‘what I have learnt’ and ‘what I am yet to learn’ can be a helpful habit for life as we encounter a variety of “tests” throughout life.

We pray for all the people of the world, that we would learn to see each other’s strengths and capacities free of bias and work to reduce barriers that limit growth.
