This week Middle and Senior College students and their families have embraced the opportunity to contribute to the Salvation Army Christmas Appeal.  In this small and simple way, we can make a difference to the lives of many families in our local area.  Families who still wish to contribute can do so through the pastoral care group until Wednesday of next week.

It was a delight to watch our Middle and Senior College Rugby 7s teams, U13 Boys, U13 Girls, U14 Boys, U16 Boys and U16 Girls compete in the finals of the SCISSA competition on Wednesday night.  The U13 Girls, U14 Boys and U16 Girls teams reached the Division 1 grand finals and played with good intensity and skill.  All three ended up being runners-up and they can be proud of the way they played last night and the progress they have made this season.  We thank parents for their support and our coaches Mr Andrew Block, Mr Cameron West McInnes, Mr Darren Hooper, Mr Joshua Danzey and Head of Rugby Mr Josh Cummins for their support of the growth of rugby within the College.

We congratulate the Junior C Girls, Intermediate A Girls and Intermediate B Boys teams for reaching the grand finals of the Sunshine Coast Secondary Schools Basketball competition.  We wish them well for their games on Friday night at the Caloundra Stadium and encourage members of the community to come and support them.

As our Year 10 and Middle College students prepare for exams over the coming week, we encourage them to maintain routines that provide a progressive review and consolidation of learnings, including the use of summaries and mind maps to build connections.  We wish students calm minds as they prepare for and undertake assessments in the coming week.  Every small step of revision and preparation makes a difference and enhances skills for the future.

We say a prayer of thanks for God’s generosity to us and pray that we might respond with generosity to the needs of others.
