This week marks a major milestone for the Club.  On Wednesday evening Tayla Gorham was successfully badged as a ‘National C’ umpire.  In the 11 months since obtaining her Junior C umpiring qualification, Tayla has progressed through four levels and is now able to umpire any CDNA game, junior or senior and has been selected as a CDNA representative umpire for inter-association games.

Tayla has taken up the position of ‘Director of Umpiring’ on the club committee.  In this role, Tayla will be responsible for the development, mentoring and assessment of our umpire team - the PLC Walers.  The team consists of twelve girls who are badged Junior C, Junior B and Junior A.  These girls are responsible for umpiring the clubs games on a weekly basis, without which, the club would not be able to function.  We warmly congratulate Tayla or her achievement.

Our ladies team the ‘PLC Mighty Mares’ is proving to be great fun and an opportunity to meet other parents, teachers and friends from across the school community.  The team plays on a Tuesday night at the Caloundra Indoor Sports Centre.  A new season commences in July and we are looking to grow the player base and field a second side.  The sides are open to all skills levels and students born in 2004 and older.  In you are interested in joining please send me an email at plc@caloundranetball.asn.au.
