Congratulations to Pacific for a narrow victory over Lourdes Hill and Palm Beach Currumbin at the Queensland Schools Marathon Kayaking Championships last weekend. It was a fantastic day and great to see the success of so many new paddlers to the sport.

Thank you to the many parents who travelled early to Lake Coomera on the Gold Coast. A special thank you to Dion Morgan for helping coach the team and to Mrs Colleen Beattie, Mrs Natalie Campbell and Mrs Rae Hall for helping out at training.

Training for the school sprints has already commenced on Monday and Thursday afternoons from 3.30pm to 5.00pm at Lake Kawana. Students will have the chance to win medals in four events in doubles and singles over a distance of 200m and 500m. Students can participate in TK1, TK2, K1, K2, Surf Ski or, if they are up for a challenge, the school now has C1 and C2 craft. New paddlers are more than welcome to participate in the sprint season. Please see Mr Gary Graves at training or at school for more information. Go for gold in the Olympic year!
