On Tuesday, the Year 7-12 students celebrated their sporting achievements throughout the year, with special guest and Origin-great, Trevor Gillmeister. A big thank you to all students who represented the college in sport throughout the year. Well done also to Year 11 students, Tyler Turner and Andrea Prinsloo, who were the MC’s for the afternoon. This was a massive undertaking for next year’s Sports Captains and they did a fantastic job.

It was a great afternoon and Trevor was an enthusiastic guest of honour, presenting the medallions to the award recipients and addressing the students with his words ofwisdom. The main thing that I took away from Trevor’s address was the fact that hard work always outdoes talent. Growing up, Trevor played as many sports as he could and only made a rep team in his final years at school. His next rep team selection was as a QLD Maroon! He was not the most talented or gifted athlete, but he worked hard and that was the key to his success. Trevor is one of the most genuine and hardworking people I’ve met and we are very appreciative of his attendance at our awards presentation. We thank Trevor immensely for the words he imparted on our students.

Thank you to all for another great year of sport at Pacific. Congratulations to all awardees, but especially to all students who played for the college. We look forward to bigger and greater things in 2016.
