Poor conditions across the Sunshine Coast led to Round 7 being cancelled last Saturday and Pacific Lutheran College fields closed for training this week.

We thank the PLC ground staff for their continued maintenance of our fields, especially over this intense wet-weather period. We are hoping the fields will hold up for our home game this Saturday but please check the SCCSA website for any changes. The Round 8 Draw can be found here.

This Saturday 28^th, the new All Abilities Program will launch at Pacific. Our very own Trevor Picken (Jimmy U10 and Jed U15/16) has campaigned for the inclusion of All Abilities, and we are very happy to host the first game. Please make the players and teams welcome at Pacific on that day. Field 7 (nearest the sports gym) has been allocated for the game at 10.20am. Because of this, there is a slight alteration to the U7 Snappers times for Rounds 8 and 9.

U9 Sharks

Our U9 Sharks took the opportunity while the fields were closed this week to have a team get-together at Spinners Bar and Bowl, Caloundra. The team had a fabulous time and Spinners have since decided to sponsor our club with Encouragement Awards. We thank our team manager Katie, for organising the support for our club!

Election Day BBQ at PLC

Thank you to Amanda (U11 Marlins) for helping with the Election Day BBQ last Saturday. It was great to catch up with so many soccer families while they cast their vote.

Smartasport Session – Sports Hub

Our U15/16 Pacific Eels took a visit to the Sports Hub this week to work with the Smartasport high-performance team. After undergoing several fitness tests to gauge speed, agility, and strength, the team was put through their paces in the gym with a workout.

We thank Nannette from the Sunshine Coast Sports Institute (SCSI) for her expertise. This session was a great opportunity for our players to discover their strengths and work on minimising injuries in future games.

Our U14 Barracudas will also be heading to the Sports Hub in the coming weeks to work with Nannette.
