Our first PACE opportunity this year is offered to students in Years 6, 7, 8 and 9 and is PACE STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths). An expression of interest was issued in student notices and via an email to parents and students this week.

The PACE STEM venture invites students to immerse themselves in an engineering project that involves planning, teamwork, decision-making, creative thinking and innovation – with the final aim being an efficient bridge design and construction. As engineers, students will face new and exciting challenges each session. They will work within dimensional restraints with limited equipment and must ensure their design is neat, robust and aesthetically pleasing. The final test for student projects will be how well their realised design is able to withstand rigorous strength and load testing.

This PACE opportunity will run for Term 2 and 3 and will be offered before school on Thursday and Friday mornings from 7.45am to 8.25am. The project will commence in Week 2 and be facilitated by Mrs Claire Richards.
