Last week, students across Prep – Year 5 celebrated National Recycling Week by running a series of activities, organised and coordinated by our Year 5 Champions for Change. Some of the activities included creating a pet toy for your dog or cat and sewing or tying a repurposed bag out of old t-shirts. We had two lovely parent helpers on the day and the room was abuzz with ingenuity. On Wednesday, we watched ‘The Lorax’, which reminds us of the dangers of consumerism and our need for nature. On Thursday, a Trash and Treasure Market was held and on Friday, students participated in a ‘Go Green’ dress day. Over the course of the week, we collected more than 600 bottles, poppers and recyclables for our Return It fund. Thank you to everyone for your engagement with this initiative.
