Music Opportunities at Pacific

As the 2016 Term 1 commences, the Music Department continues to look ahead with new ideas and openings to further the growth of the Vocal and Instrumental Music Program at Pacific.

We encourage all new and existing students who have an aptitude and desire to learn an instrument or receive vocal tuition to enrol as soon as possible, as the music teacher’s timetables can fill up very quickly. Forms can be obtained from the main school office or from Mrs Aleisha Tuaine (Head of Music) and Mr Adrian King (Head of Instrumental Music) directly.

There are many opportunities for students to engage in musical activities at Pacific. Please find below a comprehensive list of all the College offers.

Year 2: Choir, run by Mrs Jenna Woodforth (weekly).

Year 3: Pacific Foundation Voices, run by Mr Adrian King (Monday).

Years 3-4: Class Strings, run by Mrs Helen Williams (Thursday/Friday).

Years 4-7: Pacific Junior Voices, run by Mrs Jenna Woodforth (Tuesday).

Year 5: M.I.P. Band (ensemble based), run by the Instrumental Tutors (Wednesday).

Year 6: Orchestra, Drum Line and Contemporary Vocal Choir, run by the Instrumental Tutors (Wednesday).

Years 9-12: Chapel Band / Vocal Group, run Mrs Aleisha Tuaine (weekly).

Years 6-12: Pacific Orchestra, run by Mr Adrian King (Wednesday).

Years 7-12: Pacific Concert Band, run by Mr Adrian King (Tuesday).

Years 7-12: Pacific Jazz Ensemble, run by Mrs Aleisha Tuaine (Friday).

Years 6-12: Chapel Band, run by Mrs Aleisha Tuaine (Wednesday).

Years 5-12: Brass Ensemble, run by Mr Nelson Oakley (Thursday).            .

Years 4-6: Clarinet Ensemble, run by Mrs Annette Fowler. Rehearsal time to be confirmed.

Years 4-6: Saxophone Ensemble, run by Mrs Annette Fowler. Rehearsal time to be confirmed.

Years 7-12: Senior Pacific Voices, run by Mr Adrian King (Monday).

Years 9-12: Senior Vocal Close Harmony Group, run by Mr Adrian King. Rehearsal time to be confirmed.

Years 6-12: Music Excellence Program run by Mrs Jenna Woodforth (Wednesday/Thursday).

Years 6-12: College Musicals, coordinated by Mrs Aleisha Tuaine, Mrs Janine Delaney and Mr Adrian King (biennially).

Years P-12: Private music tutoring, run by specialist instrumentalists (weekly).

Years P-12: Various instrumental ensembles, run by specialist instrumentalists (weekly).

Most of the instrumental and vocal tuition, choirs, ensembles, bands and orchestra will commence in Week 2, but please make sure you read student notices in case of any changes.
