Movember – It’s time to dig deep
Movember – It’s time to dig deep
Firstly, a massive thank you to those within our PLC community who have already generously donated to our Movember team. It is such a great cause, and we appreciate any support that our families can offer.
This year we have 5 of our staff embracing the Movember challenge to make a positive and real difference to men’s mental health around the world. Mr Paul Brace, Mr Nigel Farley, Mr Rob Belchamber, and myself are all growing a moustache to support the cause and Miss Georgie Snelling and Mrs Chantel Kelly have committed to walking/running 60km in the month of November. For those who haven’t heard of Movember, below is a little about the cause:
In 2003, Movember started a movement for men's health. A movement that has since funded over 1,320 men's health projects around the world, challenging the status quo, shaking up men’s health research and transforming the way health services reach and support men. Movember have taken on three of the biggest health issues affecting men: mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer. As a result, men are living healthier, longer lives. This movement started with 30 Mo Bros. Now, it it has over 6 million people participate each year. Participants can grow a mo (moustache) and/or commit to walking/running a minimum of 60km over the month of November. The funds raised all go directly back into research and the funding of men's health projects around the world. More information can be found at: https://au.movember.com/?home
If you can support the cause, no donation is too small, with every dollar adding up to better and more effective outcomes for men’s health around the globe. You can support our cause by donating to the PLC Moustachiosoes Team at: https://au.movember.com/team/2473192
We thank you in advance for your support of this amazing cause!
Brendan and the PLC Moustachiosoes.
Mr Brendan Macaulay, Head of Student Support
