Last week in MakerSpace, we sewed pouches for the RSPCA to keep orphaned native animals safe and warm. The RSPCA sent out a sewing guide, with measurements for pouches for both possums and joeys. Using donated material, students measured and cut out an outer fleece pouch and then a cotton or flannelette inner pouch. The pouches were then sewn together by Ms Peters and Ellie Dixon, one of our library monitors. All together we created 17 pouches in half an hour.
