Lent Celebrations

How much fun did we have in the library last week? Acknowledging the start of Lent, we explored the celebrations of other cultures at this special time such as Carnival and Mardi Gras. We made traditional Mardi Gras masks, ate pancakes and enjoyed Mr Steven Lake’s lively reading of Steve Goes to Carnival.

This week we have a focus on Canberra’s special day, making origami corroboree frogs and hearing the story of The Monster Who Ate Canberra.

Our new jigsaw quiet spot is also proving to be a big hit with both little and big people! It won’t be long before this first puzzle is completed. We are loving the collaboration that’s occurring as puzzlers consider each piece and where it might fit.
