14th February 2016

  • Applications close for Queensland University of Technology’s (QUT) 2016 High School Research Internships. Students in Years 11 and 12 can apply to undertake a weeklong work placement during the Easter holidays working with QUT scientists. To be eligible for the program, students must be studying a science subject (preferably Biology) and achieving a VHA. Applications close at 9.00pm on Sunday 14th February. 12th – 19th February 2016

  • UQ Taste of Languages sessions are being held during these dates. These interactive sessions are for students and teachers at the UQ School of Languages and Cultures.

28th February 2016

  • ADFA Education Award applications are due on 28th February. This award is presented annually to Year 12 students in recognition of leadership potential and academic and sporting achievements displayed during Year 11. The award includes a tablet device (or similar) and certificate for you, along with a plaque for your school. There are up to 50 awards available on behalf of the Navy, Army and Air Force. 2nd March 2016

  • The Year 12 University and TAFE Showcase day is on Wednesday 2nd March. All Year 12 students will visit the showcase between 1.40pm and 2.40pm (please note the new time slot) at Kawana State College Primary Campus.

21st March 2016

  • 2016 UQ Science Ambassador Program applications close on 21st March. Through this program, science teachers nominate up to four current Year 11 students to interact with UQ and assist science teachers to raise the profile of the subject in your school.
