Primary Schools Cup Netball

During the school holidays, PLC had two Year 4-6 teams represent the College at the Queensland Primary School Cup Netball Competition.  This competition is open to schools from all over Queensland and was held in Bundaberg this year. The carnival was held in extremely hot and humid conditions with great support from our PLC families during the weekend.

The PLC Jewels team finished 1st in the Championship Division 3 and placed 15th overall in the Championship Division which places them in the top 15 schools in Queensland, which is an excellent result.

PLC Gems placed 5th in Development Division 4, another great result. With many younger Year 4 students in this team, they will be better for the experience they gained during the weekend in future years.

Both teams enjoyed the experience and displayed good netball – Thank you to all the parents for their support, our umpires Kayla and Georgia and our coaches Michelle Dufty and Caity O’Keefe.

Congratulations to Georgia who was named one of the Top 3 Umpires of the tournament, which was also a huge achievement.
