If your child is unable to attend training, please send a short email to the office to notify the school of their absence.

Primary Schools Cup Netball Carnival

Over the recent school holidays, two PLC Netball teams made up of students from Year 4-6 competed at the Primary Schools Cup Netball competition on the Gold Coast. 95 teams from around the state took part in the weekend carnival, which is one of the biggest netball carnivals for students their age.

Our PLC Jewels team coached by Michelle Dufty played very well during the weekend and narrowly missed qualification into the Championship Division 2, by one point. The Jewels qualified for Division 3 and finished in 5th place. At the end of the carnival, they were ranked 19th out of the 46 schools who played in the championship division, which is a great result.

The PLC Gems who were coached by Karen Costa were playing in the Development Division. Our team, which was primarily made up of Year 4 students, had to play teams with players mostly in either Year 5 or 6. The girls were placed in Division 7 and played 6 games on Sunday, winning 4, with one draw and a loss to finish runners up in their division. This was a great result for the team who will gain valuable experience for next year.

Thanks to Michelle and Karen who coached the teams and to all parents and supporters who travelled to the Gold Coast to support the girls over the weekend.
