Pacific aims to grow students into international citizens who have a global view for the future. As the world tackles environmental and other global issues, we must work together in a coherent, compassionate and united way. At assembly this week, senior students Gabrielle Donato and Thomas Turner spoke about the recent trip to Japan and how the experience was life changing for them. All 20 students who attended this trip represented Pacific, their families and their country very well.

It was impressive to see our students connect with the Seishin students and form strong relationships, despite their cultural differences. As the relationships flourished during our stay, it became clear that we have much more in common than first thought. After we left Seishin, students had the chance to experience Japan’s ancient and modern culture. Highlights were the beautiful temples of Kyoto, Universal Studios Japan and the powerful Hiroshima museum. We thank the Seishin staff who were very welcoming and looked after us during our stay. We also thank our hard working Japanese department, led by Mrs Michiko Hauser, for making this international experience possible.
