Joyce Newton OAM Memorial Bursary
Students in Years 10-12 are invited to submit an essay for the Joyce Newton OAM Memorial Bursary. The essay topic, ‘What is the value of the many small businesses and farmers in the Glass House area and what is their importance to the State of Queensland?’, was selected by her family.
Joyce Newton OAM wore many hats and had a long association with the local area and it is because of this, Mr Andrew Powell MP has launched a bursary in her honour. There will be two prizes awarded for this bursary:
First Prize
- $1000 gift voucher from Concept IT, Maleny
- Acknowledgement of, and table of, the essay in the Queensland Parliament; and
- Dinner for the winner and one guest at Queensland Parliament.
Second Prize
- Acknowledgement of, and table of, the essay in the Queensland Parliament; and
- Dinner for the winner and one guest at Queensland Parliament.
