Gifting A Life of Positive Purpose
When young people are immersed in a community where adults readily give of their time to enhance learning and opportunities they not only gain from these experiences but also absorb what it is to live a positive purposeful life. Much of what young people learn is through who we are and what we do rather than what we say. Important lessons in respectful relationships, resilience and care for people and the environment flow from the way adults respond to challenges and interact with people and the environment. People of all ages gain inspiration from people within families and communities. Reading, listening and watching the stories of people who make positive contributions into their circle of influence lifts us to a higher way of being. Reflection and dialogue that acknowledges and highlights the hard work, care, resilience, patience, humility and service given helps to build both gratitude and a sense of purpose.
Seeing ourselves and each person as uniquely gifted and specially created for good purpose by a God who cares for and loves us, empowers us to make a positive difference through using our gifts in service to others. Through God’s love and grace, we learn to walk graciously together through challenges building capacity to find better ways of being. In doing so we are constantly gifting and breathing positive purpose into our world.
