Our Pacific musicians performed very well at the recent Sunshine Coast Junior Eisteddfod, which was held over the past 2 weeks, finishing on Sunday 4th August. Here are the results of the individuals or groups who achieved a group or personal best or were placed at the Sunshine Coast Junior Eisteddfod – 

Groups

• Senior Strings – 2nd Place – Senior String Ensembles A Category

• Senior Concert Band - 1st Place – Senior Concert Bands B Category

• Flute Ensemble – Highly Commended – Small Ensembles U15’s

• Senior Chamber Strings – 3rd Place – Small String Ensembles U18’s

• Senior String Quartet – Highly Commended – Senior Trios and Quartets U18’s

• Junior Chamber Strings – Highly Commended – Small String Ensemble U12’s

Solos

• Brooke Williams – 2nd Place U18’s String Solo

• Hugo Willis – 2nd Place – U8’s String Solo

• Erin Lund – 3rd Place – Junior Vocal Championship

• Dylan Manning – Highly Commended – U8’s String Solo

• Shauntel Pollocks 1st place – Woodwind Solo U14s

• Jessica Cronin 2nd Place – Woodwind Solo – U14s

• Anita Iredia – Highly Commended – Woodwind Solo U13s

Duets

• Poppy Cleland & Kai Sorbello – Highly Commended – U18s Vocal Duet

The outstanding performances from all our competing students have sparked considerable excitement in Sunshine Coast music circles regarding the growth and strength of the Pacific music program. Congratulations to our musicians and our talented music team, led by Mr Paul Cusick, Mrs Helen Williams, and Ms Krist-Elle Hill. We also extend our thanks to the parents for their enthusiastic support.
