On Wednesday 3rd May, eight students from Year 5 competed in the Regional Da Vinci Decathlon at Sunshine Coast Grammar School.

The Da Vinci Decathlon is an academic competition designed to challenge and stimulate the minds of students. Students compete in teams of eight across 10 disciplines: engineering, mathematics, code-breaking, art and poetry, science, English, ideation, creative producers, cartography and legacy.

The competition is named after Leonardo Da Vinci. He was one of the world’s greatest thinkers and scholars, who embraced learning with a lifelong passion and determination to uncover the unknown. Spelling Bee

Last week the Year 5 cohort participated in a Spelling Bee run by the Academic PAG. Year 11 and 12 students hosted the event in which twelve Year 5 students competed in their Houses for Foundation Cup points. After a nail-biting final round, the award of spelling extraordinaire was given to Scarlett from Buran. We congratulate everyone who participated and thank the Academic PAG for a fantastic event.
