Connecting College and Community
Thank you to all who attended last weeks meeting. Following is a re-cap of the agenda items discussed:
OCEANfest - Carnivale
- The committee is working on a grant application submission to the Sunshine Coast Council to assist with funding OCEANfest this year.
- The Pacific Action Groups have advised they would like to be involved this year.
- New rides are being researched and a new fireworks display is also under discussion.
- Volunteers are still required. If you would like to assist, please contact Leanne Bevis (Middle/Senior College Office) or Mel Pollack (Convenor).
SCISSA Gala Days
There are two more SCISSA Gala Days to be held at Pacific this year –9th June and 8th September. Assistance is required between 9.00am and 2.30pm on each of these days. Anyone who is able to volunteer their time is asked to please contact Allyson Sarvari on fop@pacluth.qld,edu.au.
Jazz Evening
The 2016 Jazz Evening is being held on Friday 22nd April. Whilst this event is primarily run by Pacific’s Hospitality and Music Departments, this year FoP is getting behind the event, providing assistance and support. If you have a special interest in this or would like to assist in set up and pack down of equipment/lighting, please contact us at fop@pacluth.qld,edu.au.
Community Road Safety Grant
The cycle skills program, which has been run annually for the Year 4 students, is unfortunately no longer available due to external funding cuts. FoP is going to submit a grant application that will hopefully result in the program continuing this year.
Finally, we wish everyone a safe and relaxing Easter Break.
Mrs Tracey Hindmarsh, FoP Chairperson
