Connecting College and Community
OCEANfest Wrap Up
The primary focus of OCEANfest is to promote a sense of connection to both our immediate and extended communities whilst providing a fun and social event that caters for all ages. We are sure many of you either met someone new or got to know somebody better through OCEANfest 2016. Making a profit is certainly one of our goals, however the Organising Committee has always been focused on providing a great community event. This focus has worked extremely well in the past and was certainly evident again this year.
The final figures are still being calculated and will hopefully be completed by the end of this month. Thank you to our Treasurer Sanet Strong, who has been working through this large task.
Friends of Pacific are extremely appreciative of the community’s involvement, support and assistance, no matter how large or small. We extend a sincere thank you to everyone involved.
Feedback
We would like to share some feedback that has filtered in from various sources:
“OCEANfest certainly confirmed that we made the right decision to move to the most amazing school and community of people two years ago! Thank you!”
“Thank you to Friends of Pacific, Pacific Lutheran College and St Mark’s for such a wonderful family event. The fireworks were more than spectacular. They were worth coming for alone! My family had a wonderful time and I thank you all.”
“A big thank you to all of the teachers, parents and sponsors for making the OCEANfest 2016 such an incredible success! Our family had the best night, our heartfelt thanks.”

Final Meetings for 2016
There are now only two meetings left for 2016 – the October meeting and then the AGM in November. At the AGM, all positions on the committee will be declared vacant and a new committee will be elected for 2017. We encourage all of our College families to be involved. There is always room for more volunteers and we always welcome new committee members.
Finally, we hope everyone enjoys a safe and relaxing holiday break.
