Celebrating Diversity
Celebrating Diversity
Harmony Day in Australia celebrates the richness of our cultural diversity. Celebrated on 21st March, it coincides with the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. Australia is one of the most successful multicultural countries that includes the oldest continuous culture in the world and those of our most recent arrivals. The melding of these cultures has contributed to an integrated multicultural Australia that is part of our national identity.
Each of us needs to play our part in being inclusive in our relationships and fostering commitment to a common set of Australian values where the dignity and wellbeing of each person is protected and preserved. In His commandment for us to “love our neighbour as ourselves”, God was instructing us to see all people as our neighbours.
