Year 10 Students
Traineeships Sunshine Coast Health
Apply for 2025 Sunshine Coast Health School Based Traineeship Program
Applications are now open for the 2025 Sunshine Coast Health School Based Traineeship Program.
Local Sunshine Coast students, currently in Year 10, can apply now to start in February 2025.
Applications close on Tuesday 1 October 2024.
School Based Traineeships will be offered at the following Sunshine Coast Health locations:
• CALOUNDRA HEALTH SERVICE: Certificate III - Dental Assisting
• GYMPIE HOSPITAL: Certificate III - Allied Health Assistance
• NAMBOUR GENERAL HOSPITAL: Certificate III - Allied Health Assistance
• SUNSHINE COAST UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL: Certificate III - Allied Health Assistance
*Note: Initial applications will be assessed based on the student’s home location in relation to the selected facility. Students should only select the traineeship at the facility within your school’s catchment area.
School Based Traineeships are open to;
• Current Year 10 students with the ability to commit to a 2-year school based traineeship across Year 11 and Year 12. Students need to have the skills, ability and self-motivation to work towards completing a Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance or Certificate III in Dental Assisting prior to finishing school education and attend the workplace one day per week.
• Students with a genuine interest in Health – completing a school-based traineeship will allow students the opportunity to explore a pathway into a career in Health.
Students who require additional assistance with their application- Students who may require assistance with their application should email sc-diversity-inclusion@health.qld.gov.au and adjustments to the application process will be implemented
Year 11 Students
Young Change Makers Program at UQ
Applications are now open for the Young ChangeMakers Program. The program is a 4-day experience that presents Year 11 students with an exciting opportunity for academic extension and enrichment, and is centred around igniting young change makers’ passions for leadership, academic achievement and community development in today’s global society.
Dates: This is a 4-day (3-night) stay at UQ’s St Lucia Campus (Sunday 24th November to Wednesday 27th November 2024).
Location: UQ, Brisbane St Lucia campus.
Cost: $520 includes all activities. Fee waivers and travel bursaries are available to assist students who would not otherwise be able to participate due to financial circumstances.

How to accept and Early Offer
Congratulations to many of our Year 12 students who started receiving Early Offers. Please remember to keep an eye on correspondence regularly and respond to offers within the time frames indicated, to avoid your offer lapsing.
A reminder of key dates to be aware of:
1st Aug ATAR registration and QTAC applications opened
UniSC Early offer applications opened
Scholarship applications opened
NOTE: Some courses have early closing dates – check the QTAC website carefully
Sep-Oct UniSC processes early offer applications and issues offers (multiple rounds)
Mid-End Oct QUT and Griffith early offer applications are due
